#’Pretty Woman’ boots and head from ‘Alien’ among items in huge auction

With all these iconic props, the right buyer could create the greatest film mashup homage Hollywood has ever known.

A movie memorabilia auction of massive proportions has been announced by Prop Store to take place on Dec. 1 and 2, and it’s chock full of legendary items from silver screen classics.

The 913 pieces from over 350 films set to be sold include the mechanical head from 1979’s “Alien” — it’s estimated to be worth at least $52,000 — the thigh-high black boots Julia Roberts’ character Vivian Ward wore in 1990’s “Pretty Woman” (worth between $13,000 and $19,000) and Keanu Reeves’ complete Neo costume from 2003’s “The Matrix Reloaded” ($52,000 to $78,000).

Other venerable costume pieces include Marty McFly’s (Michael J. Fox) jacket from 1989’s “Back to the Future Part II” ($15,000 to $21,000) and Captain Miller’s (Tom Hanks) cast-autographed helmet from 1988’s “Saving Private Ryan ($13,000 to $19,000).

Multiple items from the “Star Wars” universe are also in the haul, including Obi-Wan Kenobi’s (Ewan McGregor) lightsaber from 2005’s “Revenge of the Sith” ($103,000 to $155,000) and a remote-controlled R2-S8 Droid from 2018’s “Solo: A Star Wars Story.”

There’s also a 2001 poster for the first “Harry Potter” film signed by Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint ($385), the Joker’s (Heath Ledger) necktie from 2008’s “The Dark Knight” ($10,000 to $13,000) and the Joker’s (Jack Nicholson) fedora from 1989’s “Batman” ($26,000 to $38,000).

Prop Store’s haul also includes pieces from “Top Gun,” “Labyrinth,” “Fight Club,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Hook” and “The Hunger Games.” In all, the combined items are estimated to be worth over $5.6 million.

The UK-based, 22-year-old movie auction house is organizing the event, which will be livestreamed and open to bids online and by phone. The sale, officially titled the “Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction 2020,” even has its own teaser trailer.
