The opening five minutes of the Crayon Shin-chan: Mononoke Ninja Chinpuden movie have been uploaded on the Toho Movie YouTube channel. The footage will be available for viewing until May 31.

The movie was released in Japan on April 22.

Eiga Crayon Shin-chan: Mononoke Ninja Chinpuden is the 30th movie in the Crayon Shin-chan series, which includes a still-ongoing TV series that began in 1992 and has over 1000 episodes. The previous movie was 2021’s Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Nazo Meki! Hana no Tenkasu Gakuen.  

Eiga Crayon Shin-chan: Mononoke Ninja Chinpuden‘s premise sees the Nohara family being visited by Chiyome Hesogakure, a woman who claims to be Shinnosuke’s real mother. Chiyome also happens to be a kunoichi, and events lead to Shinnosuke being taken to a ninja village that watches over the “navel of the Earth.”

The movie is directed by Masakazu Hashimoto (Appare-Ranman!, Crayon Shin–chan: Honeymoon Hurricane ~The Lost Hiroshi~) and written by Kimiko Ueno (Uchitama?! Have you seen my Tama?, Crayon Shin-chan Gaiden: Kazokuzure Ookami) and Hashimoto. Shin-Ei Animation is the animation production studio. 

Meanwhile, the cast includes Yumiko Kobayashi, Miki Narahashi, Toshiyuki Morikawa, and Satomi Koorogi, as well as special cast members like Rina Kawaei and comedy duo Haraichi.

Crayon Shin-chan began in 1990 as a manga by the late Yoshito Usui. The Futabasha-published manga ran until 2010 with 50 volumes.
