#Crunchyroll Reveals English Subtitled Trailer for Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle

Crunchyroll has released a new English subtitled trailer for the Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle anime film. The film first premiered in Japanese theaters on February 16, 2024 and will screen in North American theaters on May 31, 2024. The trailer was first released in September 2023. 

The Dumpster Battle grossed over 8.19 billion yen (US$54 million) in total box office revenue in Japan, becoming the 80th highest-grossing movie in the country overall. The two-part Haikyu!! Final films were first announced in 2022.

Susumu Mitsunaka (first three Haikyu!! seasons) directed the first film and also handled writing the script, with Takahiro Kishida returning as character designer, Takahiro Chiba (co-chief animation director on first three seasons) as chief animation director, Mariko Ishikawa (Haikyu!! Second Season et al.) as assistant director, Mayumi Sato returning as color designer, and Studio Fuga’s Ichiro Tatsuta returning as art director. Production I.G was in charge of the animation production after working all four previous seasons. 

Haikyu!! is based on the volleyball sports manga by Haruichi Furudate, which ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from February 20, 2012 to July 20, 2020 for a total of 45 tankobon volumes.

Crunchyroll is streaming all four seasons of the TV anime worldwide, outside of Japan. The first season premiered in 2014, with the fourth season being released recently in 2020. 

Viz Media releases the Haikyu!! manga in English, which describes the first volume as:

After losing his first and last volleyball match against Tobio Kageyama, “the King of the Court,” Shoyo Hinata swears to become his rival after graduating middle school. But what happens when the guy he wants to defeat ends up being his teammate?!
