The Washington Football Team has released Derrius Guice after the running back turned himself in on Friday after alleged domestic violence charges.

Among the charges levied at Guice, 23, are one count felony strangulation, three counts of assault and battery, and one charge of destruction of property, according to the Washington Post.

“On Thursday, we learned of a potential domestic violence related incident involving RB Derrius Guice,” Washington said in a statement on social media. “We immediately alerted the National Football League and have continued to work with them in this process. We then met with Derrius to inform him that he was excused from all team activity pending a review of this matter.
