Violet Evergarden the Movie

The official Twitter account for the Violet Evergarden franchise announced today that the newest film in the series, Violet Evergarden the Movie, has surpassed a total gross of 1.1 billion yen (US$10.4 million) with over 780,000 tickets sold since the anime film released in Japanese theaters on September 18. The current gross makes it currently the third highest-grossing Kyoto Animation film ever, after A Silent Voice and K-ON! the Movie.

The Taichi Ishidate directed film dropped a ranking in the Japanese box office charts this week, coming in at number 3, but still claims the top spot of per-theater average takings for the third week in a row. The above tweet thanks fans for their support for the film.
