#Video shows crowd pummel man who slugged woman in West Village

Disturbing video captured the moment a crowd meted out instant street justice by kicking a man who had just slugged a woman outside a Duane Reade pharmacy in the West Village.

The brute is seen in the footage posted on Reddit throwing an overhand right at the defenseless woman, who is wearing a mask next to the entrance of the store at Seventh Avenue and 14th Street.

A group of people immediately showers the attacker with kicks as he lies motionless on the ground.

Seconds later, two police SUVs arrive at the scene, with an officer dispersing the crowd via loudspeaker as the woman who was attacked stands nearby after passers-by ushered her off.

It was not immediately known why the man had attacked her.
