#Victims in crazy club-wielding man’s NYC rampage speak out

Victims of Saturday’s violent Manhattan rampage recalled to The Post how a club-wielding stranger suddenly pounced on them while they were simply waiting for the subway or minding their own business on the street.

Some of the madman’s 10 victims included a food-delivery man who was beaten unconscious, a Fordham University freshman injured while trying to protect his girlfriend and a tourist from Texas whose arm was broken as he defended his wife and young daughters.

“Just 30 seconds changed my whole life in a dramatic way,” said Sherif Oleba, 57, who was making a food delivery in the city when he was attacked Saturday evening.

“It’s one of the worst experiences of my life — nothing even close to this has happened to me before,” he said Sunday.

The shocking violence began in a Tribeca train station around 6:35 p.m. and ended less than an hour later in Chelsea, when suspect Bryan Thompson, 43, crashed a stolen car into a West Side Highway median, police said.

His first alleged victim was Oleba, who was looking for a bench to sit on in the Canal Street subway station when Thompson came toward him “with this big stick in his hand.

“He started shouting, ‘F–king n—er’ at me and raised the stick and started hitting me,” Oleba recalled of the suspect, who is black.

The Cairo, Egypt, native said he was smacked once in the arm and again on his right hand as he raised it to protect his head.

“I was forced to put my arm down because I couldn’t take the pain …  and the third hit came directly down on my head,” Oleba said.

“Everything went black. I couldn’t see anything, and then I fell down as I heard people screaming.”

Oleba said his arm was broken in the attack and that he may not be able to work for the next month.

“I don’t know how I’ll get by,” he said.

“Things are just not safe any more,” the worker lamented. “I never expected this, just as I was trying to take a ride on the subway.”

The crazed attacker then allegedly moved on to 18-year-old Mael Quentin, who was out on a romantic weekend date with his girlfriend.

The couple were sitting on a bench at the same train station, on their way back to their hotel from dinner in SoHo, when they heard “screaming” on the platform, Quentin said.

“We got up and saw a man come running up to us with a big wooden pole,” Quentin recalled from his Harlem home Sunday.

The suspect was mumbling as he tried to batter Quentin, who raised his arm to block the blow and was hit in the wrist, the victim said.

As the teen began to sprint for the exit, he realized his girlfriend had been cornered by the creep at the dead end of the platform.

“I screamed at him, ‘Don’t touch her! I’m right here!’ and he started running towards me,” Quentin recalled of the suspect.

The teen then hopped a turnstile and yelled at the MTA worker in the booth to call the police — but was whacked on the back of the head and arm as he jumped.

He fell to the floor, causing a gash on his face that required 3 stitches. He also needed staples to close up another cut to the head, he said.

“I’m just glad that my girlfriend didn’t get hurt,” Quentin said.

The young woman, who lives in a Pennsylvania suburb, was “pretty shaken up,” though, he said.

“There was blood all over my face. It was dripping all over the floor and all over her clothes,” Quentin said.

The attack “was just completely random, completely out of place,” Quentin said. “We felt like we were in a relatively safe neighborhood. It wasn’t late.”

The NYPD said a 39-year-old woman was also attacked and hit over the head with the wooden weapon in the station.

Then Thompson fled the subway and hit another 39-year-old woman on Varick and Canal streets nearby with the same object, police said. 

After that, he set his sights on 37-year-old Thakuri Namgya, who had just finished up his Uber shift and was preparing to head back home to New Jersey through the Holland Tunnel.

As Namgya was parked and moving some things from his backseat before his trip home, Thompson allegedly jumped behind the wheel of his vehicle.

“I confronted him, saying ‘What are you doing?’” Namgya recalled.

“He had like a huge log and slammed me in the head. … I was dazed and could barely defend myself. He slammed my arm and wrist.”

The Uber driver said he eventually just “let go” and that his attacker took off in his SUV. Namgya said he needed 8 stitches to his head and 7 near his eye.

“I never thought this would happen in that neighborhood,” he said. ” I don’t know what’s going on, but this is wrong.”

After zooming off, Thompson smashed the speeding black SUV into two parked unoccupied vehicles before crashing it around Sixth Avenue and Laight Street, cops said.

He then dumped the car and tried to swipe two other vehicles, injuring two more women in the process before fleeing on foot, police said.

That’s when the loon came upon Texas tourist Ernesto Nava, 42, who was strolling on the street with his wife, Ibonne, 40, and their two daughters, aged 5 and 12.

“We were just walking around when this guy suddenly hit my wife in the leg with this huge piece of wood,” Nava said, describing the weapon as a “like a thick 2-foot piece from a tree.

“I jumped at him and, as I was protecting my family, he hit me real hard,” the Houston man said.

“Everyone was screaming, but he didn’t say a word and then just kept going and was trying to hit other people.”

Nava suffered a broken hand and said his wife can’t walk without pain because of the attack.

The dad, who had been in town to visit for a few days, said, “I love New York — but my girls are too scared now” to come back.

The wild incident came to an end around 7:30 p.m. after Thompson of Atlantic City, NJ, stole another car and crashed it on the West Side Highway around West 24th Street, cops said.

Officers broke one of the vehicle’s windows and tased Thompson after he refused to get out, the NYPD said.

He was taken to Bellevue Hospital and charged with assault, police said.
