Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillen was bludgeoned to death with a hammer before she was dismembered, according to a report.

Guillen, who had been missing since April, was killed and mutilated by fellow soldier Aaron Robinson, a 20-year-old US Army Specialist who took his own life who took his own life last week as officers approached him, news station KHOU reported.

Robinson’s girlfriend, Cecily Aguilar, told authorities that he confessed to repeatedly striking Guillen in the head with a hammer, killing her, on April 22 at Fort Hood, the outlet reported.

Robinson then enlisted Aguilar to help dispose of her body, bringing his girlfriend to a box in the woods, she said.

He opened the box to reveal a dead woman, identified as Guillen, and they mutilated her remains, KHOU reported.

They attempted to burn her body, but were unable to do so completely and buried the remains in three separate holes in a remote site in Bell County near the base, according to the report.

On April 26, Robinson and Aguilar returned to the site with hairnets and gloves to finish the job, KHOU reported.

They dug out the remains and attempted to burn them again before burying the ashes in the ground, the report said.

Investigators discovered the remains in a shallow grave last week near the Leon River, about 20 miles east of Fort Hood.

Aguilar faces charges for conspiring to tamper with evidence stemming from her alleged role trying to hide the missing soldier’s body. She made her initial appearance Monday in federal court in Waco.

If convicted, she faces up to 20 years in federal prison and a maximum fine of $250,000.
