The official Twitter account for the anime adaptation of Uzumaki released an update video and teaser featuring director Hiroshi Nagahama. The teaser featured a brief anime clip.
The update concluded the anime project is now scheduled for October 2022. It was initially scheduled for 2021.
The anime adaptation is based on a popular horror manga series by Junji Itō. Studio Drive is in charge of the animation production while Production I.G. USA and Adult Swim are producing the anime.
Viz Media is publishing the manga in English and describes the series as:
Kurouzu-cho, a small fogbound town on the coast of Japan, is cursed.
