“UniteUp!’s 4th Episode Delayed to February”

The fourth episode of the UniteUp! male idol anime is being delayed from January 28 to February 11. The official statement attributes the reason to production schedule disruptions from COVID-19.

The show premiered on January 7.

UniteUp! is based on a ”Multidimensional Idol Project” from Sony Music. The project is described as:

“Suddenly opening a YouTube channel, a variety of songs from various artists appear. “KIKUNOYU”, “EVAN”, and “SUZU” released a cover of the popular song “I Tried Singing”. As solo artists, “Daiki Takao”, “Eishiro Nijo”, and “Fuga Togo” all released songs with top-notch musicality. “Haruka” showed off his unique singing voice by focusing on the songs he composed himself. Top idol “Anela” showcases his overwhelming presence with a high-quality performance. Their music and feelings united will lead to a new spectacle.”

The anime is directed by Shinichirou Ushijima (I Want To Eat Your Pancreas) with Rino Yamazaki (Akebi’s Sailor Uniform) as series composer and Majiro (Macross Delta co-character designer) as character designer. CloverWorks is the animation production company. The main cast includes Kikunosuke Toya as Akira Kiyose, Ryoutarou Yamaguchi as Banri Naoe, and Amon Hirai as Chihiro Isuzugawa.
