Don’t write off Frankie Edgar quite yet.

Edgar, who made his UFC bantamweight (135 pounds) debut, defeated Pedro Munhoz by split decision 48-47, 46-49 and 48-47 on Saturday night in Las Vegas.

Many thought the 38-year-old Edgar was on his last legs and were dubious about his move to the bantamweight division, but he found a way to upset Munhoz, one of the top fighters in the division.

Edgar — a former lightweight champion at 155 pounds and a top-flight contender in the 145-pound flyweight division — became the 11th fighter in modern UFC history to win in three divisions, according to ESPN.

The 15-year veteran silenced his critics and enjoyed letting them about it.

“I proved all them wrong,” Edgar told ESPN. “I still got some fight in this tank, and we’re going to make a run at [135]. I’m showing I can compete with the best at 38 years old. I don’t want to hear nothing from nobody.”

UFC president Dana White, who has promoted many Edgar fights, said he’s defying the odds.

“The career that the guy has had has been unbelievable,” White said. “The fact that he’s still performing the way he’s performing at his age with all the wars that he’s been through, and all the things he’s accomplished, yeah, I’d say he looked pretty damn good tonight.”
