Several University of Connecticut students were evicted from their dorm rooms following a packed on-campus party that violated the school’s coronavirus policy.

“Students were not wearing masks, closely assembled, and endangering not only their own health and well-being but that of others,” said a Tuesday letter sent by school officials to the campus community.

Video of the party was posted on social media.

About 5,000 students returned to UConn’s Storrs campus last Friday. They were tested for coronavirus and expected to limit contact with others for 14 days.

The undisclosed number of students were booted from their on-campus housing pending a school investigation, school officials said. The students are also facing additional disciplinary action.

School officials this week said there is no coronavirus outbreak on campus.

UConn has received more than 5,000 coronavirus test results for on-campus students as of Wednesday. Eight tested positive and are being isolated.

Three off-campus students also have tested positive, along with two faculty and staff.
