#Trump indictment live updates: Undeterred in campaigning

Former President Trump will be arraigned in a Florida court on Tuesday on federal charges of willfully possessing documents with national security implications, but that has had little impact on his campaign to return to the White House.

After speaking at Republican Party events in two states on Saturday, Trump on Sunday stood firm in his desire to return to the White House. Asked by ally Roger Stone on his radio show if he would end his campaign, Trump replied: “No, I see no case in which I would do that.”

The Department of Justice (DOJ) unsealed an indictment on Friday afternoon, formally charging Trump with 37 counts of mishandling classified records at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida and trying to block the government from recovering the documents.

He will appear in federal court in Miami on Tuesday afternoon.

A CBS News/YouGov poll taken after the indictment was unsealed found that 61 percent of likely GOP voters would vote for Trump in the 2024 Republican primary, putting him well ahead of the next strongest challenger, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Reaction to the indictment has ranged from accusations of the federal government being weaponized against political enemies to assertions that even a former president is not above the law.
