#Trump: Biden’s return to campaign trail will show ‘what’s going on up there’

President Trump doubled down Tuesday on his attacks on Joe Biden’s mental abilities and said now that his Democratic presidential challenger has hit the campaign trail, voters will see for themselves what’s happening “up there.”

“Great! Biden is finally being forced out of his basement. Now you’ll be able to see what is going on ‘up there’. He may do some ‘limited’ campaigning. Basement Biden is no longer playing well in the Polls!,” the president said in a Twitter post.

Biden made a series of campaign appearances in the battleground state of Pennsylvania on Labor Day, kicking off the candidates ramping up their races in the weeks before the November election.

The former vice president also traveled to Kenosha, Wis., last week, a couple of days after Trump met with law enforcement officials and surveyed damage caused by riots following the police shooting of Jacob Blake.

Trump, who usually refers to Biden as “sleepy Joe,” has questioned Biden’s ability to handle the pressures of the White House.

In an interview with Fox News, Trump said Biden “is shot.”

Asked by a CBS reporter last month whether he has taken a cognitive test, Biden became visibly irritated.

“No, I haven’t taken a test. Why the hell would I take a test? Come on, man. That’s like saying you, before you got on this program, you take a test whether you’re taking cocaine or not. What do you think? Huh? Are you a junkie?” Biden told Errol Barnett.

Biden began hitting the stump in earnest after the Democratic National Convention last month, changing tactics from when he mostly campaigned from the basement of his Wilmington, Del., home, taking part in virtual interviews and fundraising events.
