Among likely voters in Florida, Trump leads Biden 51 percent to 47 percent, but lags behind the former vice president 47 percent to 48 percent among registered voters in the Sunshine State,.according to a pair of Washington Post-ABC News polls.
The president also has an edge among likely voters in Arizona — 49 percent to Biden’s 48 percent. But among registered voters, the president is at 47 percent to Biden’s 49 percent.
The results are all within the polls’ margins of error.
Trump won Arizona and Florida in 2016.
The president’s strongest support in Florida comes from white non-college educated voters (64 percent) and men (59 percent).
Biden is ahead among blacks, with 86 percent, and those between ages 50 and 64 (53 percent). Among Hispanics, Biden leads Trump 52 percent to 39 percent in the Sunshine State.
In Arizona, Biden has a 61 percent to 34 percent edge among Hispanic voters.
The president leads with white, non-college educated voters (62 percent), men (55 percent) and the 50-64 age group (59 percent).
Biden tops Trump with white college-educated voters – 57 percent – females – 52 percent – and the 18 to 49 age group – 56 percent.
The polls were conducted between Sept. 15-20 and surveyed a random sample of 765 registered voters in Florida, including 613 likely voters, and 701 registered voters in Arizona, including 579 likely voters.
The margin of error for registered voters in Florida is plus/minus 4 percentage points and 4.5 percentage points for likely voters.
The margin of error in Arizona is 4.5 percentage points for both groups of voters.
