#True Beauty Receives 2nd Season & Will Stream on Crunchyroll

A second season of the Korean animated series True Beauty has been announced and Crunchyroll will be streaming when it premieres in the future. A release date, additional cast, and staff for the second season were not announced.
A special illustration to celebrate the New Year and confirm the second season’s production was posted on the series’ and Crunchyroll’s main twitter accounts.
The first season of the animated series ran for 13 episodes from August 7, 2024 to October 30, 2024. Studio N and Cocktail Media handled the animation production. It was also streamed in Japan on the U-NEXT service on October 5, 2024, and other services such as ABEMA, Amazon Prime, and Hulu.
Crunchyroll streamed the series in several regions such as North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, and India.
The animated series is based on the manhwa webtoon by Yaongyi and was published by Naver Webtoon from April 2, 2018 to June 28, 2023. A print version of the series was released in October 2020. The manhwa also inspired a 16-episode live-action South Korean TV drama from December 2020 to February 2021.
Crunchyroll describes the main synopsis of True Beauty as:
Jugyeong, who transformed herself with makeup, transfers to Saebom High School to leave her past of being bullied behind. The school is known for producing idols, actors, and influencers, thanks to its unique tradition of anonymous voting for the school’s True Beauty goddess. The chosen student gets scouted by entertainment agencies.
Jugyeong quickly becomes the center of attention, gaining the title of the next goddess candidate and mingling with Sujin, the former two-time goddess. However, Sujin’s friendly facade hides a malicious intent. She aims to bring Jugyeong down using cunning tactics and traps.
