“Trigun Stampede Reveals New Trailer, January 7 Premiere Date”

A main trailer and a January 7 premiere date for the upcoming Trigun Stampede have been revealed. Aside from new footage of the CG anime, the trailer previews the opening song “TOMBI” by Kvi Baba and the ending song “Hoshi no Kuzu α” by Salyu × haruka nakamura.

Trigun Stampede is an original series inspired by Yasuhiro Nightow‘s Trigun manga, which ran from 1995 to 1997 before being followed up by 1997 to 2007’s Trigun: Maximum. The manga previously received a 26-episode anime series adaptation that aired in 1998 and an anime movie titled TrigunBadlands Rumble that was released in 2010.

Dark Horse describes Trigun as:

On the forbidding desert world of Gunsmoke, a mysterious bounty hangs above the head of Vash the Stampede, and the gunslinging pacifist can’t seem to find a moment’s respite. Vash is no ordinary pistolero, packing a weapon capable of punching holes in a planet, which explains why the locals tremble at the very mention of his name. But sixty billion double dollars is no ordinary reward, and every trigger-happy psycho in creation is aiming to claim Vash dead or alive—preferably dead!

Trigun Stampede‘s staff includes Kenji Mutou (Hello World co-storyboarder) as director, concept artist Kouji Tajima as concept designer and original character designer, novelist Takehito Okishi as story supervisor, and Tatsurou Inomoto (One-Punch Man Season 2 scriptwriter), Shin Okashima (Skull-face Bookseller Honda-san), and Yoshihisa Ueda as series composers and scriptwriters. Other staff include Eiji Yamamori (Godzilla Singular Point kaiju designer) as creature designer, Eiji Inumoto (BEASTARS) as CG chief director, Yuuji Kaneko (Ranking of Kings) as art director, Satoshi Hashimoto (Bubble) as color designer, and Takashi Aoki and Ryuuta Koshida as photography directors.

The character designs are handled by Koudai Watanabe (“STUDY ME” director and character designer), Tetsurou Moronuki (THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS: Spin-off!, Psycho Pass 3: First Inspector action animation director), Takahiko Abiru (Vinland Saga), Akiko Satou (Kimi no Matsu Basho e), Takeshi Ninomiya (Fate/Grand Order Final Singularity – Grand Temple of Time Solomon animation director), and illustrator Yumihiko Amano. Orange is the animation production company.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Vash the Stampede, Junya Ikeda as Knives Millions, Tomoyo Kurosawa as Young Vash, Yumiri Hanamori as Young Knives, and Maaya Sakamoto as Rem Saverem.

Trigun was serialized in Tokuma Shoten’s Monthly Shonen Captain magazine, while Trigun: Maximum was serialized in Shounengahousha’s Young King Ours magazine. The original series was initially compiled into three tankoubon volumes, with Shounengahousha later compiling it into two volumes. Trigun: Maximum has 14 tankoubon volumes.
