“Maharajan To Perform Tomo-Chan is a Girl! Opening Song”
The suit and turban-wearing Japanese singer Maharajan has been announced as the opening song artist for the Tomo-Chan is a Girl! anime. The opening theme song is titled “Kurae! Telepathy.”
“Kurae! Telepathy” will be the first anime opening for Maharajan, who released his first EP in 2019.
Tomo-Chan is a Girl! is set to premiere sometime in January 2023. Crunchyroll will stream the show. The anime is an adaptation of the Seikaisha-published manga by Fumita Yanagida, which began in 2015 and was serialized on the Twi4 Twitter account. The manga ended in 2019 with eight tankoubon volumes, which are published under the Seikaisha Comics label.
Tomo and Jun have been best buds since they were little kids, but now that they’re in high school, Tomo wants to be more than friends…too bad Jun just sees her as ‘one of the guys.’ Tomo may be a tomboy, but she’s determined to prove to Jun that she’s a woman, too!
The anime is directed by Hitoshi Namba (Golden Kamuy Season 1 to 3, I-Chu) with Noriko Hashimoto (Heroines Run the Show director) as assistant director, Megumi Shimizu (Banished from the Heros Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside) as series composer, Shiori Hiraiwa (Fanfare of Adolescence animation director) as character designer, and Masaru Yokoyama (Fruits Basket: The Final) as music composer. Lay-duce is the animation production company.
Meanwhile, the cast members include Rie Takahashi as Tomo Aizawa, Kaito Ishikawa as Junichirou Kubota, Rina Hidaka as Misuzu Gundo, and Sally Amaki as Carol Olston.
