Don’t toady up to these critters because they can kill a dog or cat in 15 minutes flat.

Florida officials are telling residents to kill the poisonous cane toad whenever they see one because it secretes a milky white toxin that is fatal to house pets.

The warty amphibian, also called the bufo toad, produces the substance — on its back — when provoked.

Cane frogs, which breed after periods of rain, are invading backyards across South Florida, according to state wildlife officials.

Toad Busters is one company that specializes in getting rid of the nasty creatures.

“We had a lot last year, owner Jeannine Tilford told NBC 5, which covers the Palm Beach area. “We’re seeing even more this year.”

Symptoms of toad poisoning in pets include excessive drooling and extremely red gums, head-shaking, crying, loss of coordination and convulsions.

The toxic toads, usually longer than 4 inches, can be killed with 20% benzocaine toothache gel or sunburn spray (not 5% lidocaine).
