“#Tower of Fantasy Is What I Wanted To See Genshin Impact Deliver! » OmniGeekEmpire”
Tower of Fantasy, an upcoming open world game from Hotta Studio, is a game that up until recently was just something more of an afterthought. However, the more I look into the game, the more I realise that his is what I wanted Geshin Impact to play!
Tower of Fantasy is an immersive MMO open-world handheld game developed by Hotta Studio. It combines de-labeled characterization, film and television-grade motion capture, high-freedom world exploration, and a scrappy sci-fi art style with a variety of scenes, interactive puzzle elements, and fast combat feel, to tell you a post-apocalyptic story of rescue and destruction.
The game is been developed by a Chinese studio will take a while before we see a western release, however, there’s plenty of gameplay out there now to give us idea of what the game is all about. The first thing that struck my eyes is how similar it is to Geshin Impact’s aesthetic. Yes, Genhsin Impact animation is smoother and more, for lack of a better term “alive” than Tower of Fantasy, whose animation is a little rigid. Nonetheless, unlike Genshin Impact with its preset characters, Tower of Fantasy lets you create your own character. That alone is a major plus on my end, and from what I’ve seen, its character creation is pretty robust.
The second is the combat, which feels more action-packed than that of Genshin Impact, aka it looks crazy. Then there’s the anime look to it that very vibrant in color and captivating in its appearance. It uses Unreal 4 engine to create a 2500*2500 seamless world, uses a motion capture system to give the character a real dynamic feel. It’s yet unknown if it will have a gacha mechanic, similar to that of Genshin Impact, but given the popularity, it’s likely to be the case. There’s one catch though, it’s coming to mobile and PC. Yeah, I know but since Genshin proved to have nailed the PC/mobile hybrid, maybe Tower of Fantasy will work too. As from what I heard, both versions are been developed independently so the PC will have its own UI.
Anyways, it’s worth keeping an eye for, maybe if we express our interest enough, they’ll bring it to the west. You see the trailer below comparing their progress with the game.
