Tory Lanez Blasts Modern Music For Being 'Repetitive' & 'Redundant'

Tory Lanez believes Hip Hop has become watered-down and voiced his frustrations with the quality of music being released every week. He took to his Twitter early Friday (October 22) with some thoughts as the newest batch of tracks and projects flooded streaming services.

“It’s crazy ….. music hasn’t ACTUALLY BEEN STICKING lately ….like all of our favorite artist music is not lasting with us longer than 4-5 months,” Lanez wrote. “Real music must come back into play .. real emotion . Less repetitive and redundant.”

It’s unclear who exactly he’s targeting or if the Toronto singer is more talking in general, but chatter surrounding two of the most highly-publicized releases in rap this year, such as Kanye West’s Donda and Drake’s Certified Lover Boy, has seemingly come and gone in less than two months.

“Streaming fucked the game up,” one follower replied to Lanez’s proclamation, with the masses having access to millions of songs at their fingertips for a monthly fee.

While Tory Lanez fires off takes about the state of music, his controversial shooting case against Megan Thee Stallion is still hanging in the balance. In September, Rolling Stone reported talks of a possible plea deal prior to the case’s November hearing.

The 29-year-old capitalized on the publicity caused by the plea deal talks by announcing his next album, Alone at Prom, which is set to arrive in December.
