Kyoto Animations Hit-Anime “Violet Evergarden” received his second feature film adventure in 2020 and was shown in German cinemas this year. “Violet Evergarden: The Film” was performed by the publisher LEONINE Anime (formerly Universum Anime) after several pandemic postponements this summer with German synchronization.
A little later, the first reports came that the film would appear on Netflix this fall. Now the day has come and “Violet Evergarden: The Movie” is already available on Netflix.
But unlike the series, when LEONINE put the Netflix synchro on disc, Netflix had its own set up alongside the one produced by LEONINE. This approach is already known from the first feature film “Violet Evergarden and the bond of friendship”, when Netflix and LEONINE received almost identical dubbed versions (1. Synchro & 2. Synchro).
According to our examination, different line-ups can be found in “Violet Evergarden: The Film” almost exclusively in the case of new characters from the film. Well-known characters from the series have the same voices in both synchros. Only the figure of the Nerine In the LEONINE version, she got her spokeswoman from the series (Angelina Markiefka), while on Netflix Katharina von Daake is specified for the role. The Netflix synchro was again created with the script and direction by Farina Brock at SDI Media in Munich.
