#I left Oxford to become a stripper and now I’m a dominatrix

A British woman is baring all about her decision to drop out of Oxford University to become a stripper.

Melissa Todd — who now works as a dominatrix “caning men for £100 [$130] an hour” — was offered a spot at the elite English university back in the 1990s.

Given that Oxford is considered by many to be the world’s most prestigious university, Todd was ecstatic to have been accepted — but her joy soon turned to misery.

“I’d spent so much time and energy trying to get there, to find it wasn’t what I’d hoped. [It] made me depressed and tearful,” said Todd, now 45, speaking to British newspaper The Times.

“I was intensely shy and if you are shy and don’t come from privilege you’re going to struggle at Oxford.”

After just one year studying politics, philosophy and economics, Todd decided to take a break from the university. In need of money, she subsequently accepted a job as a stripper at a London club.

The shyness that had plagued Todd at Oxford suddenly slipped away as she stepped onto the stage and started taking off her clothes.

“You feel in charge of your own identity and image,” she said. “If you’re up there and the lights are on you, it’s all about you and you just can’t get enough attention.”

Todd soon realized that she never wanted to return to Oxford, and continued working as a stripper for more than a decade — before she pivoted into an even more exotic job.

“By the time I was 30, I thought I didn’t want to become a ridiculously ancient stripper so I thought I’d hang up my g-string and pick up a crop and start whacking people instead,” Todd bluntly told Kent Online.

For the past 15 years, Todd has been working as a dominatrix, and has wealthy clients who fly in from all over the world to be whipped by the Oxford dropout.

Todd — who is married with an adult son — says she does not have penetrative sex with the men.

“I can’t say I regret leaving Oxford, if anything I wish I’d got into the sex trade sooner. It’s the most wonderful job in the world,” Todd continued in her interview with The Times. “It’s great for self-esteem and it’s just fun. I’ve had so many exciting adventures. I get to travel everywhere — Americans love my posh voice. I go to lots of parties and I meet interesting celebrities I can’t tell you about. I get presents every day. I feel truly blessed.”

Todd offers encouragement to those young college students considering becoming strippers to pursue it.

“Do it. You’ll have fun, you’ll earn a lot of money, you’ll be comfortable with your body,” she said.

However, Todd has not forgotten her academic roots completely. The brainy beauty just published the new erotic fiction novel “My Body Is My Business,” which is loosely inspired by her own life.

She says she hopes it will change the way that stripping and sex work are perceived.

“I’m really hoping to challenge stereotypes and see that sex is just fun,” she told Kent Online. “It’s not terrifying, it’s not dangerous, I’m not corrupting the universe. I’m just having a laugh.”
