The Pegasus Dream Tour, the official game of the Paralympics developed by Hajime Tabata-led studio JP Games, will launch for iOS and Android on June 24 as a free-to-play title with in-app purchases, the developer announced. Pre-registration is currently available via Google Play.

Here is an overview of the game, via JP Games:

About the Game

The Pegasus Dream Tour is a massive avatar RPG that takes place inside “Pegasus City,” an online virtual city that upholds the IPCʼs diversity and inclusion values, and where the individuality of each person is respected. This ultra- positive and energetic Pegasus City also serves as a testing ground for building the ideal future. The game aims to enable people from all over the world to enjoy the Paralympics in an innovative way by allowing them to gather inside Pegasus City with friends at a time when during the current situation visiting the actual sporting venues is physically difficult.

Create your avatar, called a “Mine”, whose faces are generated based on selfie images taken from your smartphone, and train your Mine for greatness as a para-athlete inside the city. Players can equip themselves with prosthetic arms, legs and wheelchairs and train in a number of para-sports including the precision-ball-sport boccia, football five-a-side, athletics and wheelchair basketball. The Mine can forge new relationships with other avatars by freely roaming around the city and participating in a variety of tournaments. How a Mine spends his/her day in this Pegasus City will be reported to the player on a daily basis. Part of the profits generated by in-game items will be donated to the Agitos Foundation, the leading global organization that develops sports activities for people with impairments as a tool for changing lives.
