With just days until its August 2nd launch event, Motorola is already showing off the Razr 2022 (or Razr 3) cover display. And for once, this outer screen is on “equal footing” with the Razer’s inner display—at least, that’s what Motorola says.

In a new Weibo post, Motorola shared a press image for the upcoming Razr 2022. The image, shown below, reveals how the Razer 2022’s cover display integrates with the phone’s cameras and apps. Users can snap selfies, control music, use navigation apps, and peek at social media without flipping open their Razr 2022.

Motorola calls this a “fully-featured external screen,” which is probably a bit of a stretch. Previous Razr foldables offer similar functionality and, for all intents and purposes, aren’t on “equal footing” with the internal screen.

But hey, a larger cover display and two big cameras should help the Moto Razr 2022 compete with other foldables, especially the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4. The phone’s specs certainly help—it’s the first Razr with a flagship-level processor (the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+), and it’s expected to have a larger battery than previous models.

The Moto Razr 2022 will get a full reveal in China on August 2nd. Unfortunately, we don’t know if the phone will get a global release.
