#Quotencheck: «Guardian of the Spirit»

From December 11, 2020 to January 21, 2021, ProSieben MAXX showed the anime series “Guardian of the Spirit” on weekdays around 6:30 p.m. We’ll tell you what the ratings were during that time.

“Guardian of the Spirit” originally celebrated its free TV premiere on the Super RTL channel and was broadcast there in 2012. The series was planned as an extra for the loyal viewers who watched the Ghibli films every week. Therefore, the broadcast slot on Sunday at 8:15 p.m. was taken over, and a weekly cut of several episodes was shown here.

On Super RTL, the format achieved an average audience participation of 330,000 viewers. A market share of 1.5% was measured in the advertising-relevant target group (adults 14-49 years of age). The bottom line was that the broadcast was not a great success for Super RTL. But how was the series received years later on ProSieben MAXX?

The 26 individual episodes came to similar results during the new broadcast. The viewing participation was significantly lower, mainly due to the other slot (on average 100,000 viewers aged 3 and over), but the market share in the relevant target group (E 14-49) was 1.3% at a similar level. The first episode started with a 1.5% market share, the maximum was 2.2% and the minimum it fell to 0.7%. In view of ProSieben MAXX’s channel average (1.6% market share), “Guardian of the Spirit” also ran below average here, but within an acceptable range. But neither of the TV channels (Super RTL & ProSieben MAXX) were successful, the bottom line being that the performance was mediocre.
