#The mob comes for Parler

It wasn’t enough for tech companies to unite — collude? — to push conservative-friendly social-media app Parler and its 12 million users off the Internet. Enemies of the app have now doxed its CEO, threatening violence against him, his family and other Parler workers.

It’s shameful. Mobs shouldn’t be deciding who can and can’t speak in America.

After Twitter banned President Trump permanently following his supporters’ Jan. 6 attack on the US Capitol — and began suspending or removing other conservatives — Big Tech seemed to think it was open season on the right. Apple and Google removed Parler from their app stores, and Amazon ejected it from its Web servers, effectively ending the company’s service.

As part of a breach-of-contract suit against Amazon, Parler’s lawyers report: “Parler employees are suffering harassment and hostility, fear for their safety and that of their families, and in some cases have fled their home state to escape persecution.” CEO John Matze Jr. “has had to leave his home and go into hiding with his family after receiving death threats and invasive personal security breaches.”

Matze told Fox News that UGNazi, a hacker group, has targeted him: “They published my street address, they threatened to come through my front door,” and he’s not sure when they can return home.

Democrats and their allies, including the media and Big Tech, have been using the Capitol assault, denounced by the vast majority of Trump’s supporters, as an excuse to target much of the right.

On Parler’s site, below a “Technical Difficulties” warning, is a message “to remind you all — both lovers and haters — why we started this platform. We believe privacy is paramount and free speech essential, especially on social media.” The company aims “to provide a nonpartisan public square where individuals can enjoy and exercise their rights to both.”

It’s sad so many in America now actively oppose such values.
