#The Macross Franchise is Coming to Disney+

The Macross X (formerly Twitter) account has revealed that “all 18” Macross anime will become available on Disney+. This will happen sometime within 2024.

In April 2021, Bigwest announced that all Macross anime that were produced after 1987 will be released worldwide. Because of this, the original 1982-1983 series Super Dimension Fortress Macross and the 1984 movie Macross: Do You Remember Love? will only be streamed in Japan. Macross titles that international fans will be able to watch are:

• Super Dimension Fortress Macross II -Lovers Again-
• Macross Plus
• Macross Plus Movie Edition
• Macross 7
• Macross 7 the Movie: The Galaxy’s Calling Me!
• Macross Zero
• Macross Frontier
• Macross Frontier the Movie: The False Songstress
• Macross Frontier the Movie: The Wings of Farewell
• Macross Frontier the Movie: Toki no Meikyuu
• Macross FB7: Ginga Rukon – Ore no Uta wo Kike!
• Macross Delta
• Macross Delta: Gekijou no Walküre
• Macross Delta: Zettai Live!!!!!!

Accompanying the announcement was a visual drawn by Risa Ebata (AKB0048 and Prism Ark character designer), co-character designer on Macross Frontier and costume designer on some of Macross Delta‘s episodes.

It was also announced that a Macross event will be hosted at the Disney+ booth at this weekend’s AnimeJapan 2024. Yoshiki Fukuyama (singing voice of Macross 7‘s Basara Nekki), Ai Nakajima (Ranka Lee in Macross Frontier), and Minori Suzuki (Freyja Wion in Macross Delta) will make appearances.

Last June, it was announced that there will be a new Macross anime produced by SUNRISE.
