With all the ladies of pop joining femme forces lately, this season has turned into a hot girl summer of collaboration.

After Cardi B and “Hot Girl Summer” rapper Megan Thee Stallion broke the internet with their raunchy “WAP” single and video last week, Dua Lipa made it a diva trifecta, teaming up with Madonna and Missy Elliott for a “Levitating” remix that dropped Thursday.

Meanwhile, “Rain on Me” power pair Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande lead the nominees for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 30.

Here, we break down the hottest girl collaborations of summer 2020, from hot to not.

1. Cardi B featuring Megan Thee Stallion, “WAP”

The song: Well, just in case you haven’t heard the uncensored version of this song, that title stands for, ahem, “Wet Ass P - - - y.” The more radio- and kid-friendly version turns that into “Wet and Gushy.” The track heavily samples Frank Ski’s underground club classic “Whores in This House,” and damn if you won’t feel slutty AF after grinding to that sleazy beat.

The video: This may come as close to soft porn as any video ever. It makes Madonna’s “Justify My Love” and “Erotica” clips, which got banned from MTV back in the day, look like Disney stuff. And how did poor Janet Jackson get blacklisted for her nipple shield when Cardi is all the way out there flaunting hers? Extra points for the hot-girl cameos from Kylie Jenner, Rosalía, Normani, Mulatto, Rubi Rose and Sukihana.

2. Megan Thee Stallion featuring Beyoncé, “Savage (Remix)”

The song: No doubt, when Queen B jumped on the remix of “Savage,” she did “turn this motherf - - ker up 800 degree,” taking it all the way to No. 1. Together, these two Houston homegirls take it to the street over a ferocious beat, with plenty of don’t-get-it-twisted attitude.

The video: Sadly, there was never one. But perhaps it would have just been all too savage for us to bear.

3. Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande, “Rain on Me”

The song: Although we prefer “Sour Candy” — Gaga’s girl-gang banger with Blackpink on “Chromatica” — there is no denying the powerhouse vocals and pumping electro-disco of this diva-on-diva anthem that debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The video: With Gaga and Grande looking like dueling Barbarellas in a sci-fi fantasy, this is a visual orgy for Little Monsters and Arianators. But in these social-distancing times, the best part may be seeing them sweetly hug at the end, cheekbone to cheekbone.

4. Dua Lipa featuring Madonna and Missy Elliott, “Levitating (The Blessed Madonna Remix)”

The song: Props to London DJ-producer the Blessed Madonna — no relation to the Material Girl — for taking this disco twirl from “Future Nostalgia” to a whole different sphere. That enhanced bass line alone was worth the remix. It even gives you echoes of “Into the Groove,” one of the all-time great Madonna songs, which makes it all the better to have Madge — the mother of all dance-pop divas — join the party. The whole thing really doesn’t need Elliott, but any excuse to hear Missy is a good one.

The video: It’s not out yet. But Lipa shared a 12-second teaser on her Instagram Thursday that gave us a provocative peek.

5. Doja Cat featuring Nicki Minaj, “Say So (Remix)”

The song: It’s pretty impossible to say no to the breezy bounce of this feel-good jam, which made its mark on TikTok before getting the star treatment from Minaj and ascending to No. 1. The queen from Queens brings her hip-hop swag — and cred — to the pop-flavored mix.

The video: It’s candy-coated fun, but pretty forgettable in a “WAP” world now. And loses points for no scenes of them together.
