A new key visual has been released for the fantasy anime The Greatest Demon Lord Is Reborn as a Typical Nobody. The new visual highlights the protagonist Ard Meteor (voiced by Toshinari Fukamachi), his past reincarnation Varvatos (voiced by Kouhei Amasaki), and his mentor Lydia Beginsgate (voiced by Yuki Kaida) in the background. 

Additional voice cast members include Wakana Maruoka as Ireena Litz de Olhyde, Hina Youmiya as Ginny Fin de Salvan, Ayaka Ohashi as Slyphy Marheaven, Yui Ogura as Kings Verda, Takehito Koyasu as Alvarto, Kenta Miyake as Lizer, and Mie Sonozaki as Olivia vel Vine. 

An initial teaser visual for The Greatest Demon Lord Is Reborn as a Typical Nobody was released in September 2021. A second trailer and additional character art were also revealed in March 2022, ahead of the anime’s Spring premiere. 

The production staff for the anime includes Mirai Minato (The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!) as director, Yuushi Ibe (The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!) as assistant director, Michiko Yokote (The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!) as scriptwriter, Takayuki Noguchi (Higehiro: After Being Rejected, I Shaved and Took in a High School Runaway) as character designer, and Frontier One’s Yoshihiro Watanabe (Iwakakeru -Sport Climbing Girls- character designer) as sub-character designer. 

Additional staff members include Cosmo Project’s Hiroya Yoshiyama (The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in a Different World as an Aristocrat) as art director, Hiyori’s Haruko Nobori (The Faraway Paladin) as color designer, and Studio SHAMROCK’s Atsushi Satou (Restaurant to Another World 2) as photography director. SILVER LINK and BLADE are handling the animation production.

The series first began as a web novel published on Shousetsuka ni Narou, written by Myoujin Katou in August 2017. KADOKAWA then formally published the light novels on May 19, 2018, with new illustrations by Sao Mizuno. Nine volumes and a short story collection have been published as of May 20, 2022. The series is currently published under the Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint. A manga adaptation by Misuho Kobota began in 2019.
