#The Great Ace Attorney Game Tells Kids to Say No to Drugs
“#The Great Ace Attorney Game Tells Kids to Say No to Drugs”
In somewhat of an ironic campaign, the Osaka Prefectural Police Department requested the support of game publisher Capcom to help spread the message that drugs are bad to the youth of the prefecture, focusing on cannabis use. Capcom agreed to the partnership, using the newly released The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles as the face of the campaign – ya know, lawyers who kind of need people to break the law to do their jobs.
6,000 posters and 4,000 flyers were made for the anti-drugs campaign featuring the same visual on both. The poster has been put up in police stations, schools, community centers, and public transport stations around Osaka prefecture.
Since 2013, Capcom has been supporting regional prefectures around Japan in prevention campaigns. The campaigns have been mostly for minor crimes, such as using Chung-Li to bring awareness to traffic safety in Fukushima prefecture, or 2020’s Osaka campaign which saw a poster of Ryu using his famous Hadouken to prevent cybercrime.
The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles posters were put up around Osaka on December 9, with Phoenix Wright’s distant relative making sure the kids don’t see the inside of a courtroom.
