“The Fruit of Evolution Season 2 Releases Trailer”

The upcoming new season of The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made‘s (Shinka no Mi ~Shiranai Uchi ni Kachigumi Jinsei~), titled Shin Shinka no Mi ~Shiranai Uchi ni Kachigumi Jinsei~, has received a trailer. A January 2023 premiere date was also revealed.

Hiro Shimono, Kana Hanazawa, and Tetsu Inaida were announced to be reprising their roles as Seiichi Hiiragi, Saria, and pre-transformation Saria respectively, while Miyuki Sawashiro is joining the cast as Destora.

Additionally, the new season will see director Yoshiaki Okumura switching to the chief director while Shigeru Fukase (The Demon Girl Next Door Season 2 and Blue Period episode director) takes over the director seat. Other new staff include Iroha Mitsuki (Pastel Memories episode 1 and 12 sub-character designer) and Nobuhide Hayashi (The Demon Girl Next Door Season 2 animation director) as character designers, Mikio Harabe (some episodes of Life with an Ordinary Guy Who Reincarnated into a Total Fantasy Knockout) as art director, and Hiroyasu Yano, Alisa Okehazama (The God of High School), and Yuki Satou as music composers.

The returning staff includes Gigaemon Ichikawa (Kedama no Gonjiro) as series composer and scriptwriter and Hideki Imaizumi as photography director. Hotline is still the animation production company. 

The Fruit of Evolution‘s first season aired during the Fall 2021 anime season. It is an adaptation of the light novels written by Miku and illustrated by U35.

Crunchyroll describes the show as:

High school student Hiiragi Seiichi is bullied by his classmates for being a “loser.” One day, his entire school is suddenly transported to a video game-like world of swords and sorcery. When he accidentally eats “the Fruit of Evolution,” his life as a successful “winner” begins.

The Fruit of Evolution light novel series began in September 2014, while the 14th volume was released in March 2022. It is published under Futabasha’s Monster Bunko label. A manga adaptation by Sorano began in 2018. The story originated as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou in January 2014.
