Los Angeles, CA – Nipsey Hussle’s alleged killer Eric Holder is reportedly asking a judge to reduce his $6.5 million bail. According to the New York Daily News, Holder appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom on Thursday (March 25) where his public defender Lowynn Young filed the bail reduction motion on his behalf.

The public filing argues Holder’s criminal history before the alleged murder was “insignificant” and includes only one felony conviction in 2012 for carrying a concealed firearm. Young therefore believes her client should be granted a bail reduction of at least $2.5 million.

“Based on the isolated nature of this case, Mr. Holder does not pose a risk of harm to the public,” Young wrote in the doc. “Even a reduction of bail down to $4 million should satisfy any concerns by the court and the District Attorney.”

The filing also claims Holder isn’t a flight risk because “he doesn’t hold a passport” and has familial ties to the L.A. community, including a father who’s a government worker. Judge Curtis B. Rappé gave prosecutors until next Tuesday (March 30) to respond to the motion and set a follow-up hearing for April 6.

Nipsey was fatally shot outside of The Marathon Clothing store in South Central Los Angeles on March 31, 2019 after he and Holder allegedly got into some kind of argument. The 31-year-old L.A. native was tracked down and arrested a couple of days later.

A grand jury indicted Holder on one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder and weapons charges. He has since pleaded not guilty.
