#The Cast of ‘Sex and the City,’ Then and Now

June 6, 2023, marks the 25-year anniversary of Sex and the City’s first episode. The show introduced the world to Manolo-clad Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), lawyer Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), gallerist Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) and public relations exec Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall). The four unforgettable Manhattanites created an iconic show for six seasons, navigating the dating scene in New York and maintaining their unwavering friendship.

In 2008, the women reunited onscreen for Sex and the City: The Movie, which grossed more than $415 million worldwide. Two years later, the original cast wrapped their second and final film together, set in Abu Dhabi.

The show’s success also led to two sequels, including The Carrie Diaries in 2013, which followed Carrie Bradshaw as she navigated high school and Manhattan in the early 80s. AnnaSophia Robb, Austin Butler, Ellen Wong, Katie Findlay, Chloe Bridges, Stefania LaVie Owen and Brendan Dooling starred in The CW show that ran for two seasons.

Then in 2021, Parker, Nixon and Davis reprised their roles in the Sex and the City sequel, And Just Like That, which sees them navigating life and love in their 50s. Cattrall is also set to make an appearance as Samantha in the second season, which will premiere in June 2023, after previously opting out of the reboot. SATC alums Evan Handler, David Eigenberg and Chris Noth also made appearances in the sequel.
