Claim jumping is a serious offense in the mining world. It’s when someone illegally takes passion of a mining claim that another person or crew had gained legal possession of. It’s up to Emily as self-appointed sheriff for her own area to prevent something like this from happening.

Of course, there are times that a GPS will act a little wonky. There are cases where the claim jumping happens by just millimetres or the boat accidentally floats over into the wrong territory, but that’s not the case for The Reaper.

This is a clear case of claim jumping. Emily isn’t going to stand for that. After all, it’s her mining territory!

At the start of the Bering Sea Gold clip, we see Brad and his team hard at work, but they know that something is wrong when Emily shows up. She immediately makes it clear that the guys are in the wrong place.

Of course, people don’t like being told when they’re doing something wrong. They try to make excuses or they want to blame it on someone else. In this case, Emily makes it clear that she’s not going to do another person’s work to make sure they’re not acting illegally and that doesn’t sit too well for others.

Brad isn’t happy about the whole situation—and it’s not about Emily. He’s annoyed that his dad is making him look bad. All he wants is to prove that he’s a great miner. I can respect that, but he’s got to move!
