Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles

 

The CyberConnect2 developed action-fighting game based on the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba TV anime series, Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles was announced today to be released in Japan on October 14. The official Twitter account for the game revealed the news alongside a brand new visual that will be used as the physical box art that was drawn anime studio ufotable.

The above tweet confirms that the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles are currently available to pre-order inside Japan, with three different versions of the game. A base version that will be available both physically and digitally, a limited edition physical release that comes with a statue of Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke that holds phones, and then a digital deluxe version that comes with themes for your system of choice, early costumes, and more. The physical base version of the game will also come with IC card stickers.

Aniplex has noted that only the PlayStation versions of Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles will be released physically in Japan at this stage, with the Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, and Steam versions only available digitally. The console versions will be cross-generational, where if players purchase the PlayStation 4 version, the PlayStation 5 version is also available at no additional cost, same with the Xbox–though the physical release is only compatible with the disc-drive version of the PlayStation 5.

 

Outside of Japan in Asia (as well as the Steam version inside Japan), SEGA will be publishing Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles with a scheduled release sometime in 2021 on all platforms. The Asian release will be playable in Japanese and English dubs and at least have English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese subs. The Japanese version will be released on October 14.
