The second episode of the comedy anime Teppen!!! (Teppen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Laughing ’til You Cry) is set to air on September 10. The episode’s original July 9 broadcast was cancelled due to “various reasons.”

Additionally, it was revealed that the anime is collaborating with Minamishimabara City for the production of a new episode set in the city. The funds will be raised via the hometown tax system, with the target amount being 50 million yen (~US$365,000). A new key visual was released as well.

Other announced events and initiatives include a Bushiroad credit card, the Teppen Grand Prix 2022 event on November 6 with cast appearances, and a Teppen!!!-themed murder mystery at murder mystery game outlets. Teppen!!! is also joining the Rebirth for you TCG, with a trial and starter deck to release on November 4.

Teppen!!! had its premiere on July 2. It is based on the manga written by Inujun and drawn by Namamugi. The story sees two reunited childhood friends, who used to perform as a comedy duo, joining forces with a third girl in an attempt to win the Teppen Grand Prix and become top comedians. The trio stay in a dorm with other aspiring and similarly quirky comedy groups. Seiyuu Sanshimai “Team Y,” a YouTube channel and seiyuu unit, was also involved in crafting the story.

Teppen!!!‘s staff includes Shinji Takamatsu (RoboHachi director) as chief director, Toshinori Watanabe (Bungo and Alchemist -Gears of Judgement) as director, Jun Kumagai (Bungo and Alchemist -Gears of Judgement) as series composer and scriptwriter, and Yoshiyuki Ohkubo (Vlad Love co-character designer) as character designer. Drive is the animation production company.

Meanwhile, the main cast includes Seiyuu Sanshimai “Team Y” members Ayasa Itou, Aimi, and Mikoi Sasaki as the Young YY trio Yayoi Sakamoto, Yomogi Takahashi, and Yuzu Hosono respectively.

The Teppen—!!! manga began in January 2021 and released its third tankoubon volume in July 2022. It is serialized in Monthly Bushiroad and published under the Bushiroad Comics label.
