Toho has uploaded a new 35-second PV teaser trailer for the upcoming Teasing Master Takagi-san film. This is the third teaser trailer that the company has released in preparation of the film’s Japanese premiere on June 10, 2022. 

The Teasing Master Takagi-san movie will debut several months after the conclusion of the TV anime’s third season. The first season premiered in January 2018 and was streamed by Crunchyroll. The second season aired in July 2019 and was streamed on Netflix. The latest third season is currently being streamed by Sentai Filmwork’s HIDIVE service. 

The film’s production team consists of many returning staff from seasons two and three. Akagi Hiroaki is serving as director and Aya Takano is the lead character designer. Hiroko Fukuda, Aki Itami, and Kanichi Katou are the film’s screenwriters, with Fukuda taking a lead role in the story composition. Hiroaki Tsutsumi is composing the musical score. Shin-Ei Animation is once again handling the animation production. 

Lead cast members Rie Takahashi reprises her role as Takagi, as does Yuuki Kaji as Nishikata respectively.

Teasing Master Takagi-san is based on Souichirou Yamamoto’s manga series of the same name. The teen romantic comedy was first published in Shogakukan’s Monthly Shonen Sunday Mini magazine in 2013 before transferring to Monthly Shonen Sunday in 2016. Yen Press has licensed and released the series in English.

The manga also inspired a spin-off about a married Takagi and Nishikata, along with their future daughter, Chi, titled Karakai Jouzu no (Moto) Takagi-san. It was first published in July 2017 and has released 15 tankoubon volumes in total so far. Another manga spin-off called Koi ni Koisuru Yukari-chan ran from 2017 to 2020.

Crunchyroll describes the story of Teasing Master Takagi-san as:

“I swear I’m going to tease and embarrass Takagi-san today!” Nishikata, a middle-schooler, keeps getting teased by the girl who sits next to him in class, Takagi-san. He tries every day to get back at her, but will he ever succeed? Takagi-san and Nishikata’s youthful teasing battle starts now!
