If you’re like me, then you want a tablet that’s still useful when you’re out of the house and away from any Wi-Fi connections. But adding 5G to an iPad or Samsung tablet costs an extra $200. That’s why TCL and Verizon teamed up to make the new TAB Pro 5G, a $400 Android tablet that supports Verizon’s ultra-fast mmWave 5G system.

Available now as a Verizon exclusive, the TAB Pro 5G features a respectable Qualcomm 480 5G chip, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage (plus a micro SD slot for 1TB of additional storage). Its big 8,000mAh battery supports reverse-wireless charging and reportedly lasts up to 17 hours with regular use.

Of course, TCL is a TV company, so the TAB Pro 5G has a neat little display. It’s a 10.36-inch IPS panel with a 1,200 x 2,000 resolution, plus NXTVISION upscaling technology that boosts standard definition content to HDR. Unfortunately, the screen caps out at 60Hz, but it’s not like the base-model iPad is any better.

And while the TCL TAB Pro 5G’s cameras probably won’t blow you away, they seem perfectly suited for video chats and other everyday tasks. You get a nice 8MP selfie lens and a 13MP main camera to shoot HD video—do you really need more?

The TCL TAB Pro 5G is available at Verizon for $400. If you order online, you can save $100 with Verizon’s “Spend More, Save More” promo … but only if you buy a qualifying Android phone with the tablet.
