The official website for the Space Battleship Yamato anime franchise has posted a 70-second full trailer for the first part of its next installment Space Battleship Yamato 2205: Aratanaru Tabidachi / The New Voyage. in addition to newly-revealed scenes, this clip features Deider, commander of the flagship Great Pleiades of the Great Magellanic Cloud force of the Dark Nebula Empire. In the original TV feature in 1979, the character was voiced by the late Kosei Tomita. In this remake, he is played by Masuo Amada (Darius in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Gula in Dokidoki! PreCure).

Space Battleship Yamato 2205 will be produced in two parts, and its first part “-TAKE OFF-“ will be screened in 36 theaters in Japan from October 8, 2021.

Also the first 22 minutes of The Era of Space Battleship Yamato: The Choice of 2202 A.D. is now streamed on YouTube. The 120-minute compilation film based on the two installments of the Space Battleship Yamato franchise – Space Battleship Yamato 2199 and Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love – was released in Japan on June 11, 2021, and its DVD/Blu-ray is set to be released on August 27, 2021.
