Starting today, Friday, October 8th, Hulu is raising the price on its most popular on-demand streaming plans. Hulu confirmed the price hike back in September, and this is just a friendly reminder that you’ll see an extra $1 a month or $12 a year charge on your bill.

In an email to subscribers, Hulu says the price increase “will be reflected in your first billing cycle on or after October 8th.” So users will see the new charge unless they cancel their subscription today. That said, it’s only a $1 increase, which isn’t a lot, and it only affects two Hulu plans.

So which Hulu plans cost more today? Hulu’s base ad-supported and ad-free monthly subscriptions to On-Demand content are going up in price by a dollar. So that’s $7 a month for ad-supported content, and now $13 (instead of $12) a month for ad-free streaming.

Hulu + Live TV plans are not getting a price increase at this moment.

According to The Verge, those on a discounted or promotional offer will not see a price increase, nor will those who subscribe to Hulu on a Disney bundle. So basically, this only affects the two cheapest base Hulu plans.

It’s worth noting that we’ve seen more significant price hikes from the competition, so this isn’t too drastic of a change. Plus, Hulu added all sorts of new content for October 2021 you can enjoy.
