#M88 Bolsters Digital Talent Services As Sister Firm UNCMMN Is Folded In to Company (Exclusive)

M88, the management company launched in 2020 to focus on clients from the global majority, is growing its family.

The firm is merging with sister company UNCMMN, which was founded in 2019 also to represent historically excluded talent, but in new media. Both firms got off the ground through strategic investments from Macro, the media company Charles D. King founded in 2015 to invest in multicultural projects, and Macro will maintain its majority interest in M88.

With the merger, M88 will now represent talent from the global majority spanning both traditional and new media, and be able to offer both its current roster and future clients opportunities in digital and experiential media, as led by UNCMMN co-founder Stephanie Piza, who becomes M88’s new head of emerging and interactive media.

“This is an exciting moment for M88 as we further diversify our offerings in the creative and digital space,” M88 president and co-founder Phillip Sun, who will continue to lead the combined firm, said in a statement. “With the addition of Stephanie and the UNCMMN team, M88 is more equipped than ever to deliver a 360 approach to modern representation that elevates our clients’ enterprises while still pushing the culture forward.”

Piza, an alumna of CAA, brings with her clients including Kendrick Sampson, JC Caylen and Olly Sholotan. “As two leaders with an aligned passion for representation, Phillip and I recognized early on what kind of impact our collaboration could yield,” she said in a statement. “At this pivotal point in our industry, I am thrilled to further expand the firm’s efforts in new media and emerging technologies to help our visionary clients build the New Hollywood. I look forward to coming together with my colleagues at M88 to amplify our shared mission to effect meaningful change and continue to redefine what modern talent management looks like.”

M88, which also counts partners Oronde Garrett and Gaby Mena among its leaders, represents a growing roster of top talent from the global majority, including Michael B. Jordan, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Gemma Chan, Taraji P. Henson, Kelly Marie Tran and directors Ryan Coogler, Blitz Bazawule, Issa Lopez and Carlos Lopez Estrada.
