#Take Under on this high total

The nation’s top two offenses will collide in Sioux Falls, S.D., on Saturday in a game that figures to have tons of scoring. But perhaps the total set by the bookmakers is a tad too high.

Gonzaga, which averages 93 points per game, is coming off a two-week shutdown of the program. That could be cause for players to lack the conditioning you’d expect for an up-and-down game, along with being prone to a cold start due to the layoff.

Iowa has the top-ranked offense in the country in both total points (100.5 per game) and points per possession. But other than their game against North Carolina, the Hawkeyes have been playing lesser competition. Games against North Carolina Central, Southern, Western Illinois and Northern Illinois certainly help the numbers.

Iowa ranks in the top 55 in the nation in points allowed per possession, and opponents are shooting just 30.1 percent from 3-point range. With Gonzaga making 29.1 percent of its 3-pointers this season, which ranks 251st in the nation, it should lead to some empty possessions and a bit of a lower-scoring affair than many might expect.

The Pick: Iowa-Gonzaga total, Under 172 points
