A trailer for the second half of the Summer Time Rendering anime has been released, previewing the new opening song “Natsuyume Noisy” by Asaka and protagonist Shinpei Ajiro’s fifth time loop.

The anime’s website also revealed a new key visual and a preview image for incoming character Ryunosuke Minakata. Yuuko Sanpei was announced to be playing Ryunosuke.

Furthermore, a Summer Time Rendering video game from MAGES. was announced as well. More details on the game will come at a later date.

The new cour will begin this month, continuing directly from the first cour that began on April 14 in Japan. The anime is available on Disney+ worldwide.

Summer Time Rendering is based on the manga by Yasuki Tanaka, which ran from 2017 to 2021 with 13 tankoubon volumes. The manga was serialized on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ and is published under the Jump Comics label.

Manga Plus describes the story as: 

Upon hearing of Ushio’s death, Shinpei returns to his hometown of Wakayama City on Hitogashima and reunites with his childhood friend’s family. The funeral goes smoothly, but under the surface something strange is brewing on the island. What mysteries await him on this secluded summer island?

The anime’s staff includes Ayumu Watanabe (Children of the Sea) as director, Satoshi Nakano (Pokémon Journeys: The Series Opening 1 and 2 director and storyboarder) as assistant director, Hiroshi Seko (Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan Final Season) as series composer and scriptwriter, and Miki Matsumoto (Angels of Death) as character designer.

Other staff include Anna Akasaka (Non Non Biyori the Movie: Vacation) and Yuuki Hatakeyama (Misaki no Mayoiga) as art directors, Yuki Akimoto (For Whom the Alchemist Exists: The Movie) as color designer, Toshiya Kimura (Girlfriend, Girlfriend) as photography director. Keiichi Okabe (NieR series). Meanwhile, Ryuichi Takada and Keigo Hoashi (Frame Arms Girl) as music composers. OLM is the animation production company.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Natsuki Hanae as Shinpei Ajiro, Anna Nagase as Ushio Kofune, Saho Shirasu as Mio Kofune, Youko Hikasa as Hizuru Minamikata, Jin Urayama as Ginjiro Nezu, Kensho Ono as Sou Hishigata, and Maki Kawase as Tokiko Hishigata.
