A brief 37-second teaser trailer for Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These — Sakubou has been released, containing lines and “key words” pertinent to the upcoming season such as “abduction of the Young Emperor” and “Julian’s departure.”

Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These — Sakubou is the fourth season of the Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These anime series. Like the third season, Collision, it will be released theatrically in three parts. The respective release dates are September 30, October 28, and November 25.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes began as a novel series by Yoshiki Tanaka. The first volume was first released in 1982, while the 10th and final volume was first released in 1987. The novel series was first adapted into an anime in 1988, and had various OVA seasons and movies released until 2000. The first two seasons of Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These were released in 2018 and 2019 respectively.

The main staff of Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These‘s first three seasons include Shunsuke Tada as director; Yuujirou Moriyama as assistant director, Noboru Takagi as series composer; and Yoko Kikuchi, Kei Tsushima, and Iwao Teraoka as character designers. Production I.G is the animation production company.

Thousands of years into the future, humanity has advanced into space. Here it has divided into two countries and two different forms of government: the autocracy of the Galactic Empire, and the democracy of the Free Planets Alliance. The countries have been at war for 150 years. Near the end of the 8th age of the space calendar, the appearance of two geniuses will change history forever. As heads of the Imperial and Alliance armies respectively, the two will face each other in battle over and over again.
