#Night Head 2041 Unveils PV, Reveals July 14 Premiere Date, Opening Song And Additional Cast

The official website of Night Head 2041 unveiled its main promotional video and visual, as well as its July 14 premiere date. Based on the 1992 live-action Night Head drama series, both the website and video also revealed additional cast members as well as the opening song by Who-ya Extended (Jujutsu Kaisen), titled “Icy Ivy.” The opening single will debut on August 11 this year.

The newly announced cast includes Kazuyuki Okitsu as Michio Sonezaki, Lynn as Reika Mutо̄, Yasuhiro Mamiya as Daisuke Honda, Yōko Hikasa as Kimie Kobayashi, Reina Ueda as Yui Akiyama, Kaori Maeda as Shо̄ko Futami, and Banjou Ginga as Kyōjirō Mikuriya. 

Other cast members includes Tomoaki Maeno as Suguru Kakitani, Aya Endo as Miki Tachibana, Chikahiro Kobayashi as Mike Fujiki, Tomokazu Sugita as Kо̄ji Kazama, Saori Hayami as Emily Shinjо̄, Kousei Hirota as Losyukov, Tarusuke Shingaki as Victor, Hiroki Nanami as Naoto Kirihara (young), Shizuka Ishigami as Naoya Kirihara (young), Natsumi Fujiwara as Takuya Kuroki (young), Makoto Koichi as Yūya Kuroki (young), Mari Yokoo as Akiko Okuhara, and Motomu Kiyokawa as Elder Misaki.

The main cast features the psychic brothers Naoto Kirihara, voiced by Daisuke Ono, and Naoya Kirihara, voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki, who are on the run due to avoid persecution. The Kirihara brothers are being hunted down by Takuya Kuroki (Takahiro Sakurai), who, alongside his younger brother Yūya Kuroki (Kensho Ono), is responsible for tracking the Kirihara brothers down.

Takamitsu Hirakawa (Etotama, revisions) is directing the anime at Shirogumi, with the director of the original live action series George Iida as scriptwriter and series composer. Ito Ogure (Air Gear), also known as Oh! great, is credited as the original character designer, while Yutaka Yamada (Tokyo Ghoul) is composing the music.

Etsushi Toyokawa and Shinji Takeda played the Kirihara brothers in the original live-action series that aired from 1992 to 1993, while Toshiyuki Morikawa and Akira Ishida voiced the brothers in the 2006 24-episode anime Night Head Genesis. The 2006 anime series also received a manga adaptation that was published by Del Rey.

The new anime series will receive a manga, novel, and stage play adaptation. The manga by Kei Ogawa debuted on April 28 on Kodansha’s YanMaga website, with the first volume to be shipped on August 6. The anime’s scriptwriter George Iida is penning the novel in collaboration with Kawato Azusa, with the first volume debuting on August 12, and the second volume on September 15.
