Sword Art Online and WORKING!! character designer Shingo Adachi is directing a new original anime titled Lycoris Recoil, which will premiere in 2022. The new title marks Adachi‘s directorial debut.
Also on the staff credits are novelist Asaura (Shousetsu Knights of Sidonia: Kitto Arifureta Koi author) as series composer and mangaka Imigimuru (This Art Club Has a Problem! mangaka) as character designer. A-1 Pictures is the animation production company.
Meanwhile, the main cast includes Chika Anzai as Chisato Nishikigi and Shion Wakayama as Takina Inoue.
Aside from the main staff and cast info, a teaser visual and announcement video for Lycoris Recoil have also been released. The uniforms donned by Chisato and Takina in the visual are designed by ALCATOROCK’s Kimika Onai, who has designed costumes for idol groups Nogizaka46 and Sakurazaka46.
The tweet of Lycoris Recoil‘s teaser visual includes a tagline that roughly translates to, “Wouldn’t it be exciting if we’re together? Let’s go, partner!” Meanwhile, PR Time’s press release indicates that the story will revolve around the “interweaving, nonsensical everyday” of the two girls.
