#HBO Max App Finally Arrives for Vizio SmartCast TVs – Review Geek

A dedicated HBO Max app is finally available on Vizio SmartCast TVs, meaning users will no longer have to resort to 3rd party measures or casting to enjoy great content from the streaming service.

Originally, the HBO Max app was only available on Samsung TVs, and before today’s announcement, Vizio users had to rely on casting with Apple AirPlay or Google’s casting feature. Now, Vizio’s SmartCast TV interface has an all-new app specifically for HBO Max.

“The launch of HBO Max on VIZIO SmartCast TVs is a terrific addition to the vast distribution of the platform, adding to our connected TV footprint and making it easier than ever for our customers to access HBO Max where and how they want,” Jennifer Mirgorod, head of partner marketing at WarnerMedia, said in a statement.

As of now, the carousel of apps on the SmartCast home screen will populate free content that’s available from HBO Max, which is nice. Keep in mind that HBO Max no longer offers free trials, but users can get free samples of shows by watching a pilot episode of some of the platform’s most popular series and documentaries. Additionally, the app is available directly from the apps menu. As a result, SmartCast users will have an easier time finding and playing HBO content.

Perhaps the biggest benefit here, aside from the ease of access, is that those with a Vizio TV can now enjoy HBO Max content in crisp 4K through the dedicated app. It took over a year to arrive, but better late than never. It’s worth mentioning that this is just the latest addition for HBO Max, with the company expanding to LG Smart TVs, Spectrum TV, and more throughout the past several months.
