#Yamato yo Towa ni – REBEL3199’s 1st Chapter Flies into Japanese Theaters This July

The first chapter of Yamato yo Towa ni: REBEL3199, the latest installment in the Space Battleship Yamato remake series, will begin screening in Japan on July 19. A short trailer has been released.

Yamato yo Towa ni: REBEL3199 will have seven chapters in total. The first is titled Kuro no Shinryaku.

Naomichi Yamato (Macross Delta: Zettai Live!!!!!! assistant director) is directing the new Yamato entry with Harutoshi Fukui (Space Battleship Yamato 2205, Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2202) as series composer and co-scriptwriter. Fukui is also credited as chief director. Other staff include:

studio MOTHER is the main production studio for Yamato yo Towa ni: REBEL3199 Chapter 1 Kuro no Shinryaku. Satelight, which produced Space Battleship Yamato 2205, is credited with animation production assistance.

The original Space Battleship Yamato TV series aired from 1974 to 1975 and inspired sequel series and movies. The remakes began in 2013 with Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2199.

The power-hungry Gamilas have taken over Earth, and only a distant planet has the key to save humans from extinction. Granted the schematics of a high-powered engine, the Space Battleship Yamato is built to traverse the galaxy and retrieve hope for their survival.
