#Koupen-chan Short TV Anime Premieres April 6, Reveals 2nd New Trailer & Additional Cast
A second new PV trailer has been revealed for the upcoming Koupen-chan short TV anime series, which begins broadcasting in Japan on April 6, 2025.
The new trailer also confirmed the addition of four new cast members (whose character names are not officially romanized) that include:
- • Ayaka Saito as Enaga Yokoshima-san
- • Sachi Kokuryu as Grown-up Penguin-san
- • Junji Majima as Adelie-san
- • Kazuya Ichijo as Polar Bear-san
Ayaka Saito is also voicing the main titular baby penguin, Koupen-chan, in the short series.
Kyo Yatate (Bananya) is directing the Koupen-chan anime, with Yoichi Kato (Youkai Watch, The Idolmaster Million Live!) as series screenwriter, Hiroyuki Nemoto (Heaven’s Design Team) as art director, and Akiyuki Tateyama (Laid-Back Camp) as music composer. Lesprit is in charge of the animation production.
Other staff include Hazumu Sakuta (JOCHUM) as chief director, Yoshio Harisaki (Look Back) as assistant art director, Jun Kubota (Go! Go! Loser Ranger!) as director of photography, and Daiki Hachimaki (Tonari no Yōkai-san) as sound director.
Original creator Rurutea first debuted their Koupen-chan character on social media through a series of illustrations in 2017. The mascot character has since inspired several merchandise.
